Ghana Mourns Its Tallest Man A 'Generous and Popular Giant' The death of Sulemana Abdul Samed, affectionately known as Awuche, has left a void in northern Ghana's Gambaga region.

News of his passing sparked an outpouring of grief that spread beyond the local community. Awuche was diagnosed with Marfan syndrome at 22, which had grown to an astonishing 7ft 4in (223cm) tall by his mid 30s.

Despite struggling with medical bills covered by a benefactor close to Ghana's President John Mahama, Awuche continued to inspire awe and admiration from those around him.
